»»ALUHAUS MANUFACTURES ITS
version of Premium Warmcore products,
delivering bi-folding doors, Tilt & Turn
windows, specialised aluminium gable fronts
and, soon to be launched in January, a new
smooth finished aluminium ‘slam-lock’
residential front door.
Aluhaus Managing Director, Tim Armitage,
previously worked at Synseal for 23 years
before leaving in March of this year. During
his time with the company he was involved
in the development of Synseal’s Warmcore
range of ‘warm’ aluminium hybrid profiles
and took the decision on his departure from
corporate life to go into the manufacturing of
Aluminium.
But not before making some of his own
adjustments to the profile, both cosmetic and
engineered enhancements that would enable
Aluhaus to target the mid to upper premium
sector, enlisting the help of fellow ex-Synseal
colleague, Sarah Starkey, who joined Aluhaus
as a shareholder in the role of General
Manager and Front of House. Tim explains,
“Our manufacturing facility in Nottingham
has been designed solely to create premium
aluminium products with state-of-the-art
machinery, fully automated so every product
is made to the same consistent and exacting
tolerances required by our discerning trade
customers. We also sell direct to the end user
via our network of certified installation Alupartners.
“Unique to the usual Warmcore offering,
we have introduced 7 dedicated RAL matched
colours; anthracite grey, slate grey, pebble grey,
stone grey, black grey, light ivory and signal
white. These can be matched to the full suite
of Aluhaus products, including all hardware
and hinges.”
Using milled-finish aluminium and a
specialist powder coating partner, Aluhaus
is able to deliver a unique, personalised offer
that even goes as far as dual coloured profile,
with no premium charge attached, and still
available on the standard 15-day lead time.
Aluhaus also now offers Renolit foiled finish
lamination products across its range.

Aluhaus is also the only Warmcore
manufacturer currently to offer both a onepiece traffic handle set or a separate handle
and escutcheon set in brushed satin stainless
steel for a more modern and contemporary
look, both of which, when combined with
the additional Aluhaus hardware upgrades
fitted at no extra cost, deliver Secured By
Design.
There are several other key features and
adaptations, continues Tim, “In the retail
race for expansive glass openings with
unrestricted views, smaller width bi-fold door
leaves can become unsightly. We designed
UltraSash to facilitate maximum 1250mm
width door leaves so that the homeowner can
achieve unrestricted views in their modern,
contemporary design ambitions.
“SafeTrack, is a captive pivot roller
mechanism, which has been specially
designed by Aluhaus to keep all bi-folds
in the opening or closing motion secure,
by having the top and bottom sliding
mechanisms safely captured inside the
running aluminium track, eliminating
derailing and track jump.
“All of our bi-folds come with a bespoke
weather seal, designed by Aluhaus, which is
not only RAL colour matched but is also made
from memory foam called Qlon. Qlon retains
its shape for its lifetime and is also super childfriendly to protect against any unnecessary
accidents with little fingers.

“We recognised that to prevent the
bi-fold doors from separating in the open
position, making the doors fold unevenly, a
manufacturing solution was required to keep
the doors perfectly aligned. Thus AntiRack
was born. AntiRack delivers equal door leaf
alignment on all doors when in the open
position.
“What’s more, we were the first in the
UK to invest in the latest fusion GRAF
welding technology to manufacture all of our
aluminium products, where joints are fully
welded to create precision corners with a near
seamless finish.
“All products are fully fabricated in our
Nottingham factory. We can also deliver bifolds flat packed where required when access is
restricted. We include a DIY ‘toe-and-heeling’
packer to make the glazing of all our doors
simple and to assist our installation Alupartners further, Aluhaus also manufactures all
its bi-folds, French doors and Residential doors
with a 45-degree mitred finish in each corner of
the outer frames used,” Tim concludes.
