DOORS&WINDOWS The Door Safe Register defines the new era of automatic door safety Automatic door Installation Association announced the launch of its Door Safe Register at their Annual General Meeting, held at the Park Inn by Radisson, Birmingham. »»The Door Safe Register is an official list of automatic door technicians who have the ADIA BS EN16005 City & Guilds accreditation to work safely and legally on automatic doors. To find a registered technical the association has created a new website (www.door-safe. co.uk) allowing users to enter keyword searches, or the installation type they require, along with the location to ensure the correct member is selected for the installation required. To become a door safe registered company, technicians need to hold the ADIA BS EN16005 City & Guilds accreditation and will automatically be added to the register Wishing you a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year once the accreditation is achieved. Companies must become a member of the ADIA to be able to qualify. The ADIA is the only association within the automatic door industry which promotes companies that install and maintain automatic doors. They offer members the opportunity to train for the accreditation and registered to show them as professional and reputable organisations. ADIA offer a BS EN16005 course and exam which is accredited by City & Guilds. The training course is designed to take tradesmen working in the field of automatic doors, and guide them through the latest legislation. The course consists of a copy of the BS EN16005, self studying online, one to one training, hands on learning, a free re-sit should a technician fail, and a technician card and certificate are then issued.
