MACHINERY
Machines for second factory
»»THE TWR GROUP HAS CHOSEN A
complete package of Emmegi machinery for
its brand new factory in Peterlee, County
Durham, which is set to open this summer.
The company has purchased a new
Phantomatic X6 four axis machining centre,
a Precision TS2 electronic twin head saw and
a taping machine, end miller, crimper and
tables for its second factory, where it will be
exclusively manufacturing bi-fold doors.
These are the first Emmegi machines
supplied to The TWR Group, which has
ambitions to become the UK’s leading
medium-sized fabricator in aluminium.
Managing Director, Terry Richardson,
chose Emmegi because he wanted a package
of machines that would give his new factory
the state-of-the-art manufacturing capability
to set it apart from the competition, and
which would also effectively future proof
his operation so that it can easily increase
capacity.
The Emmegi machines are renowned for
their quality and performance, but the service
from the dedicated UK team was also an
important factor in the buying decision.
Terry Richardson said: “We’re delighted
to have purchased the new machinery from
Emmegi and the service they have given us
has been first class. The new machinery will
take pride of place in our soon to be opened
25,000 sq ft factory. This will allow us to
continue offering an unrivalled service and
great products to our loyal installer base.”
TWR plans to add Synseal’s new WarmCore
aluminium clad profile system to its portfolio
of bi-fold doors, and the Phantomatic X6 is
the perfect machine for this because it has a
fourth axis with a rotating head, which can
carry out the specialist routing required on
WarmCore at 45°.
The X6 has already been chosen by a
number of WarmCore fabricators and is an
increasingly popular machining centre with
a 7.7m work area, which can handle large
volumes of work flow.
The Precision TS2 electronic twin-head saw
with front blade offers angled cutting to 45°
inwards and 15° outwards and can cut to 280
positions per degree. A patented innovation by
Emmegi achieves both virtual rotation of the
cutting units on the saw and absolute rigidity
so that positioning and profile blocking are
always accurate.

ENHANCED CAPABILITIES
»»LEADING TRADE FRAME
manufacturer, Camden has
recently commissioned three
new cutting machining
centres from Italian machinery
supplier, Emmegi, which will
be installed at its state-of-theart manufacturing plant in
Antrim.
The machines, manufactured
by German-based Rapid, are
part of Camden’s quest to see
a programme of continuous
improvement across the business
and add further resource and
support to its two other cutting
machines, which are already were
installed at the site.
Operations Manager, Seamus
Lavery, commented on the
installation: “Customers are
looking more and more for
their chosen fabricators to
supply products faster and our
customers are no different.
“The Rapid machines are one
of the fastest and most accurate
PVCu cutting machines on the
market, and their introduction
will further enhance our
manufacturing capabilities,
increase production efficiency
and help us keep pace with the
growing demand for our marketleading Inliten range of windows
and doors.”
A key feature of the newly
fitted Rapid VIAFC is its modular
construction, and how by
separating the sawing unit and
processing module, productivity
is increased significantly.
Jim O’Connell for Emmegi
commented: “I’ve been working
with Camden on this and other
projects installing new machines,
and it’s good to see a company
that puts innovation at the heart
of their business, recognising their
customers’ demands and acting

on them through investment and
continuous improvements.”
The three new Rapid machines,
alongside further investment
in automated and robotic
technologies, are an integral part
of Camden’s drive to reduce
turnaround times at the same
time as driving through product
quality.
The latest investment is part of
Camden’s ongoing commitment
to capitalise on world class
production capabilities. Camden
operate one of the most advanced
start to finish window and
door manufacturing plants in
Europe – with state-of-the-art
recycling, profile extrusion, frame
fabrication, composite door
production and glass sealed unit
facilities all on-site.
