CONQUERING THE 42 PEAKS CHALLENGE

»»
TWO BRAVE DEMPSEY DYER employees recently completed the formidable 42 Peaks Challenge , raising over £ 2,000 for Brain Tumour Research in the process .
Dempsey Dyer ’ s Commercial Sales Manager , Martyn Wright , led a team of four on the trek , including colleague Anthony Ryder , in memory of his dad , Ron Wright , who died of a brain tumour in 2005 aged just 58 . The team scaled some of the Lake District ’ s most rugged terrain and climbed a total of 28,000ft - which is equivalent to Mount Everest .
“ The challenge was very physically demanding , we managed to cover over 66 miles in just three days , but we enjoyed every minute and we ’ re delighted to raise funds for a very worthy cause ,” said Martyn .
“ I took on the challenge in memory of my dad , who I lost through the disease . Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40 , yet just 1 % of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to curing this devastating condition .”
Peter Dyer , Dempsey Dyer MD , commented , “ I ’ m incredibly proud of Martyn , Ant and the rest of the team . I ’ d encourage everyone to visit Martyn ’ s Just Giving page and make a donation .”

Shifting expectations in home improvement market

»»
RECENT RESEARCH HAS REVEALED an increasing number of window installers are diversifying into other products and services , in order to differentiate themselves from the competition .
It ’ s a trend the Consumer Protection Association has noticed for some of its members , who are diversifying their product portfolios .
Managing Director , Jeremy Brett , comments : “ Over the last couple of years we have seen more and more members diversifying their product range and becoming wider home improvement companies .
“ Once you ’ ve installed new windows or a new door in a property the job is done and you may not see the homeowner for another 20 or 30 years . But , if you have built a good relationship with them there are more crossselling and upselling opportunities if you have a more diverse range of products .”
Many installers and CPA members also diversified into PV panels and renewable energy . This has slowed due to the market taking a hit but new products such as battery storage units could re-ignite this trend .
The CPA has been providing IBGs and Deposit Protection for over 20 years and is widely recognised by consumers as a trusted resource for finding accredited and vetted installers for a range of home improvement projects .

Third golf event

THE CONSERVATORY OUTLET Network was brought together once again for its annual Golf Open , this year hosted at The Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Birmingham on 7th June .
The event proved to be Conservatory Outlet ’ s hottest golfing get-together yet , in more ways than one , with 12 teams of four coming together from across the UK on a scorching Tuesday afternoon . These numbers saw half of the retail network represented by a team made up of staff from various departments of their business , from office staff to owners .
Conservatory Outlet ’ s newest network member , Park Lane Windows & Doors , introduced itself to its peers with an impressive win , closely followed by West Yorkshire Windows , which was a founding network member and has been a retail partner of Conservatory Outlet for more than a decade . The ‘ Outlet Open ’ has been a fixture of the fabricator ’ s event calendar for three years . Conservatory Outlet joint Managing Director , Greg Kane , said : “ The great thing about this particular event is that we are able to extend the invite to people from all departments of the retail network .”
