OUTDOORLIVING
Best of both worlds
» » AS ALL WINDOW
fabricators and installers know,
the trend for outdoor living has
increased over the last few years,
especially with the introduction
of the bi-folding door and the
phrase “Bringing the outdoors
in”.
Bi-folding door specialist,
Whiterose Windows Limited,
operates from two premises in
West Yorkshire, a large old mill
complex in Queensbury, which
has recently been extended, and
a factory unit in Brighouse. The
company mainly supply to the
trade, fabricating a complete
range of bespoke products
including windows, bi-folding
doors, sliding patios, and
commercial doors, using both
Smarts Architectural Aluminium
or energy rated, quality Liniar
PVCu Profile.
When Whiterose expanded
its range to include aluminium,
around 5 years ago, it went
through the same process as it
did when originally choosing
the Liniar PVCu system to
manufacture. It took time
researching the system that best
suited its client’s needs and, after
consulting with its customers,
found that the Smarts system
came out on top for being an
industry recognised, quality,
af fordable system.
This year, with the increase
in space, Whiterose is hoping
to vastly improve its current
lead times on the most popular
aluminium colours, whilst
remaining competitive with its
transparent pricing. Tony Smith,
owner and director of Whiterose
Windows, comments, “Our lead
time for PVCu, especially Modloc
bi-folds, has always been very
quick within the market place,
so hopefully, by increasing our
facilities and employing more
staff, we will also be able to
significantly improve our current
lead time of 3 to 4 weeks on
standard coloured aluminium
products in 2017.”

He goes on to add, “As
a business, we operate to
economies of scale rather than
relying on big margins. This
allows us to offer our products
at very competitive prices, for
example we have fixed prices
for our bi-fold sets, regardless of
configuration.”
Whiterose has recently added
a new string to its bow, starting
to manufacture Liniar’s brand
new creation, Alumina, which is
a true aluminium bi-folding door
system, beautifully sculptured
and foiled to match perfectly
with the full Liniar product suite.
Alumina can achieve U-values
as low as 1.2 W/m²K, with its
sleek lines and greater efficiency
it offers the best of both worlds.
Whiterose Windows
originally began by selling
to local tradesmen and it has
maintained its personal and
direct approach to customer
service, should any issue arise
they try their best to make
sure it is resolved quickly and
efficiently. As the company has
grown, the team has made a
real effort to maintain this local
trade supplier approach, just on
a much bigger scale and, with
the recent addition of extra
administration staff, hopefully
this will lead to even greater
efficiency in the future.
The company offers its own
nationwide delivery service,
ensuring that its goods arrive in
perfect condition, travelling as far
as Scotland and Devon.
A revamp of the company
website is due very soon, with the
new website being brought up-to-
date with a more contemporary
feel, suitable to the modern
products it manufactures. It
will also contain a gallery of
installation pictures so that
customers can get a good idea
of what its products look like in
situ.
