Steven Shute, chose this bird as a fitting namesake for
his company, Kestrel Aluminium Systems. Clearview
magazine went along to the company’s new premises
in Aston, Birmingham to find out more…

Birmingham-based Kestrel Aluminium Systems
started as a small distributor of shopfront
systems. The privately-owned company
has since grown to become a nationwide
fenestration systems house, developing
commercial and domestic products to meet
the ever-changing needs of the modern
customer.
But what is really impressive is the
company’s industry leading 2 to 3-day lead
time, something which is relatively unheard
of in the aluminium sector. The company
also supplies profile in half and quarter sizes,
helping to reduce wastage for its fabricator and
installer customers and delivers nationwide
using its own fleet of 7 wagons. Kestrel
Aluminium Systems also stocks every type
of hardware but also gives the customer the
option of using their own.
National Sales Manager, John Treagust,
explains, “In 28 years, Kestrel Aluminium
Systems has experienced steady but consistent
growth, from initially employing four people, to
present day now employing over 50 members
of staff. We found it necessary to relocate from
our 60,000 sq ft premises to a new 120,00 sq
ft site in November 2015, allowing us to bring
our powder coating business in-house, with
the new powder coating line commissioned
in January this year. The powder coating line
is 80% computer-automated and currently
