GLASS&SEALEDUNITS
EXCEEDING EXPECTATIOINS ONCE AGAIN
» » THERE IS NO STOPPING TUFFX
Processed Glass when it comes to supplying
glass for stunning designs and creations. They
are always surprising cilents when jobs are
installed by how striking the glass is.
Most recently, TuffX’s processed department
secured a job for a regular installer in North
Wales when they requested glass for the
outside of a beach front holiday home
in Pwllheli. The homeowners wanted to
differentiate their home from thier neighbours
and give it a modern finish.
TuffX suggested to the cilents that they
purchase a total of 135m2 of Toughened-
Laminated glass. The cilents opted for 45m²
of 15mm Toughened-Laminated glass for the
staircase and 90m² of 21.5mm Toughened-
Laminated for the surrounding balcony.
The homeowner was very happy with
the finished product, stating, “Our holiday
home is just how we pictured it. We can’t
thank both our installers and TuffX enough
for everything; it really gives our home the
finishing touch we desired.”
TuffX manufactures its toughened
laminated glass in-house on state-of-the-
art machinery to meet all current industry
standards. It can manufacture the glass from
4mm to 19mm and up to a maximum size of
4000mm x 2200mm.
Offering A-Rated as Standard
» » HOME IMPROVEMENT AND
glazing specialist EYG has made significant
investment to double production of insulated
glass units with the support of Edgetech
UK.
EYG has invested £500,000 in a new
high-speed Forel insulated glass line at its
Hull-based manufacturing facility. It can now
produce a double glazed unit made with Super
Spacer® every 35 seconds. This has enabled the
company to offer ‘A’ energy rated windows as
standard on all double glazing installations.
John Waugh, Retail Sales Director at EYG,
said: “The support we’ve had from Edgetech
has been first class.
“We turned to them because they have
been the leaders in developing energy efficient
glazing systems over many years, and they
helped us every step of the way, from guidance
on machinery solutions right through to the
first Super Spacer units rolling off the line.
“The team from Edgetech spent a lot of
time with us ensuring we got up and running
and producing our new improved windows
without any issues. Their support and training
was invaluable to us as the machinery, and
the process of setting the glass in place, was
different to what we had done before.”

YEAR OF GROWTH
» » MORLEY GLASS &
Glazing is celebrating a successful
start to 2017 following an
exciting 12 months.
The £1m move to the new
50,000 sq ft premises in July
last year enabled the business to
effectively double its production
capacity and, just six months
later, Morley Glass and Glazing is
already reporting a 30% increase
in order volume for its popular
Uni Blinds®.
Currently, the business is adding
the finishing touches to a state-of-
the-art showroom, located on-site.
Ian Short, Managing Director
at Morley Glass, said: “Our hope
when we moved to the new
premises was that it would allow
us to work more efficiently, as
well as invest in new machinery
and take on more staff. There has
been a lot of upheaval and change
at the business over the last year
but seeing the kind of results we

worthwhile.
“We are now looking forward
to what the next 12 months will
hold for the business, including
the introduction of exclusive new
ScreenLine® products, and I feel
confident that we are on track to
easily achieve the same kind of
growth throughout 2017.”
