PROUD SPONSOR OF DOORS & WINDOWS DOORS&WINDOWS Pleasing planners for scenic seaside installation » » PLANNING WAS NOT A PROBLEM when a resident of one of Yorkshire’s best- known seaside conservation areas chose to replace timber windows with PVCu. In fact, once the planners had seen frame samples, it was put through on the nod without even needing a formal planning application. It comes as no surprise also that neighbours of the house, beside Scarborough’s Victorian Esplanade, had not realised that the new windows and French doors were not timber. The frames were in the Residence9 system fabricated by The Glazerite UK Group Ltd and the result, in white foil finish was ‘a dream job’ according to Sales Manager, Barry Smith. “When the owner first came to us, he was looking at vertical sliders in another system but immediately changed his mind when he saw the Residence9. It was easily the closest thing to the timber he was replacing and the result speaks for itself, a dream job. ‘a dream job’ He continued: “This is a typical example of why we strive to offer one of widest choices of systems and materials, so that the installer has something to answer every customer’s needs.” www.glazeritewindows.co.uk Expansion Continues » » INNOVATIVE FABRICATOR Whiteline has announced new investment initiatives to further increase capacity, effectiveness and efficiency of its Eastbourne manufacturing facility. 2016 saw a massive £2 million spend on state of the art machinery, to upgrade the PVCu production lines and deliver quality products. Now 2017 heralds move to capitalise on strong sales growth and develop fresh opportunities. The catalyst for the new investments is the doubling of Whiteline Aluminium sales over the past 18 months and the need for space for future growth. The continued resilience of the established product range sales, plus the uplift from the recent introduction of the new foil finished Alumina aluminium bi-folding doors, has led to the commissioning of an expanded 12,000 sq. ft. aluminium specific manufacturing operation within the factory. Consequently, Whiteline is expanding into an extra 10,000 sq. ft. of floor space in an industrial unit adjoining the current factory. First into the new facility is PVCu accessories production. Next will be a dedicated new product development space and a customer showroom and training suite, both aimed at continuing Whiteline’s industry leading reputation for product innovation and ensuring sales success, through 2017 and beyond. The TWR Group – which contains the TWR bi-folds brand - has partnered with systems company REHAU to manufacture its Calibre and Total 70 range of PVCu windows and doors. TWR made significant investments in tooling and machinery, ready to manufacture; and is already seeing demand for this product rise week on week. Managing Director, Terry Richardson, says the move was prompted by increasing demand across the UK for premium PVCu products. He comments: “The industry is rapidly changing and we like to keep on top of trends, and listen to feedback from our customers, to introduce new products that will give them an edge over the competition. PVCu is a high-demand product for us and we’re delighted to be able to expand our offering with REHAU.” He also says that Calibre is considered as a trade window and is proving particularly popular amongst its installer customer base. “With the roll-out of REHAU and ambitious growth plans for the future, I am confident we will see sales increase again this year.” C L E A RV I E W-U K .
