PROUD SPONSOR OF DOORS & WINDOWS DOORS&WINDOWS FLUSH SASH WINS THE DAY » » TODAY’S CUSTOMERS KNOW what they want – and the winners will be the installers who can provide it. So says The Glazerite UK Group Ltd in response to the latest installer partner to benefit from the addition of the Halo Flush Sash system. Mark Russell of Northampton-based MG Window Systems explained: “The customers were looking specifically for a flush sash to replace the existing timber ones in the home. They began by looking online, found our site, we quoted and we got the job. Until taking the Halo Flush Sash from Glazerite, we had been able to imitate a flush window by putting dummy sashes between the real ones but that would not have been enough to win us this job. “The customers had first looked at another, much more expensive flush system. They were perfectly happy to go with our Halo product because of the cost saving it gave them but we know they would not even have looked at a dummy system.” Glazerite already offered one of the most extensive ranges of window and door systems of any trade fabricator but added the Halo systems, including the acclaimed flush sash, when it acquired Peterborough-based City Beads Ltd early last year. www.glazeritewindows.co.uk Fire Door Slab Passes the Test ODL Europe has recently announced the results of its FD30 test with its new PAS24-2016 FD30 fire door slab. » » THE TEST WAS undertaken on Monday 16th Jan 2017 ODL took the New Pas 24 – 2016 FD30 fire door slab from Capstone to Exova High Wycombe for fire door testing. The Coventry-based company was the first to adopt the mechanically jointed FlushSash PVCu system and found that it quickly became popular with a variety of customers, for use in both heritage homes and in more contemporary settings in a range of colours. Director Michael Hagan explains: “With its clean lines and flush style, we’ve found the FlushSash to be a very versatile system. We have branded it as the Prestige Collection® and it’s been specified in some quite modern 74 » A PR 2017 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M settings, but we’ve found that it is particularly suited to historic homes and heritage projects. For this reason, we decided to expand upon its Georgian features with a traditional- style working peg stay. We de signed and commissioned bespoke pin fixings that make this peg stay work perfectly with the Halo system. “This new feature is exclusively available on the FlushSash by request. It started off as a matter of aesthetics, making the window look even more authentically traditional, but after consultation with our customer base it became apparent they wanted a working peg stay, not just decorative.” www.vekauk.com
