DRIVING FORWARD SECURITY INNOVATION WITH FIT SHOW LAUNCH

»»
Testing on a revolutionary component , designed by GT Window Products , to simply and effectively enhance the security of PVCu doors is on schedule to launch at the FIT Show in May .
Building on the company ’ s two decades of experience in ground breaking component design , the new product was tested with a door from a national manufacturer and a leading local installer . It proved a great success !
Further testing will now take place with other fabricators and installers to ensure the component can be used with as many PVCu doors as possible .
“ We are really excited about this new product ,” explains Tony Hancock , General Manager at GT Window Products . “ We ’ ve been working hard behind the scenes to perfect the design and materials to ensure it performs at the highest possible levels . So far , so good !
“ We ’ re right on track to launch at this year ’ s FIT Show and testing is proving it is working perfectly .”
Also at the FIT Show , the GT team will be showcasing the company ’ s product development and new component design service .
Using CAD design and 3-D printing technology , GT is able to design and make a sample component in hours rather than weeks . Previously , tooling was developed as the component design evolved which could mean product development could last several months . It used to take three weeks to develop the tooling to produce a sample and quite often five different sample versions were needed before final one was right .
Now it can take as little as 12 weeks to go from initial idea to finished product .
Tony added : “ We ’ ve always had the knowledge and expertise to improve existing products and develop new ones but technology is really helping us speed up the process . It means we are highly responsive to enquiries and concepts become finished products in a matter of a few short weeks .”
