MACHINERY
UP STICKS AND DOWN THE ROAD
Business is booming for Kombimatec Machines
Ltd at the moment, so much so that the Bedford-
shire-based window machinery company has had
to up sticks and move premises due to an in-
creasing demand for its award-winning machines.
» » RELOCATING TO A NEW FACTORY
three times the size of its existing premises,
Kombimatec move just down the road from
Luton to Dunstable with easy access to its
new HQ when exiting junction 11 of the M1
motorway.
“Suppliers, customers and staff will
benefit from the new location,” said Derek
Parsons, Kombi-matec’s Managing Director.
“One benefit in particular is we expect
greater efficiencies as a result of the larger
manufacturing area that has been kitted
out with all the services we require for
manufacturing machines.”
Also, equipped with a dedicated area for
demonstrations and pre-delivery testing
the new Kombi-matec factory arrives as the
company prepares to exhibit at this year’s FIT
Show on stand J12.

» » GLASTON HAS ENTERED INTO
a cooperation agreement of at least a two
years’ duration with Finnish tennis player
Henri Kontinen. The 26-year-old Kontinen,
who grew up in Tampere, currently
occupies fifth place in the ATP doubles
ranking list.
The parties to the agreement are
connected by long-term commitment, high
expertise and international presence.
“We have both set out from Tampere
towards international playing fields.
There, competition is very intense, but
with determined work we have reached
a high level in our respective areas of
expertise. Glaston, like Henri, has focused
on developing and strengthening its own
skills over the long-term, and in this way
has reached a peak position internationally,”
says Glaston’s President & CEO Arto
Metsänen.
Over 95% of Glaston’s sales come
from outside Finland and, as the global
market leader, the company represents the
highest quality and technology in its sector.
Kontinen, who represents the absolute
peak in his sport, is perfectly suited to this
operating concept.
His finest achievements include
the Australian Open men’s doubles
championship in 2017, together with John
Peers, the London ATP Finals victory in 2016,
paired with Peers, and the Wimbledon mixed
doubles championship in 2016.
