Elite Conservatories has been successfully making bi-fold doors in Smart’s Visifold 2000 profile for the last seven years and had previously relied largely on a hand router for most of the machining tasks. Now though, with its investment in a new Phantomatic M3 machine, it has transformed its production and is achieving consistently improved quality and higher volumes. Lead times on the bi-fold doors have been reduced from 15 working days to just 10 and, as a result of the efficiency improvements it is seeing, it has been able to pass on price savings to its customers. Director, Phil Warner said: “We’re always looking to improve the quality and service we deliver to customers and this new machine is a key part of that.
