NEW INVESTMENT
MEANS NEW
SERVICE LEVELS
Multi Fab Ltd, the fabrication
arm of EAG, has a hard
earned and well established
reputation across the UK for
the fabrication of architectural
aluminium systems providing
the highest level of expertise,
quality and reliability to its ever
expanding customer base.
The business has pro vided a
complete fabrication service to
the construction industry for
aluminium window, door and
curtain walling for the past 25
years and, with its new and
significant £500,000 CNC
machining centre investment,
hopes to continue this on for
another 25 years or more.
The business has 67 full time
fabricators across two factories,
one factory in Mildenhall Suffolk
and the other in Attleborough
Norfolk. The business is
well geared for high volume

fabrication, which attracts
many main contractors for their
large scale building projects.
In addition to the aluminium
window, door and curtain
walling fabrication, Multi Fab
also provides sheet metalwork
manufacturing, producing
many of the powder-coated
and anodised panels that can be
seen on building façades across
the country and particularly in
London.
The company has recently been
employed by Mount Anvil as
specialist subcontractor to provide
feature cladding and associated
elements to the building’s façade
as part of a new build residential/
commercial project on Union
Street, London. The scheme,
spread across three buildings,
focuses on providing 85 new
homes with an additional 279sqm
of commercial space.
Charlie Dyce, Business
Development Director of EAG,
said “We have built a strong
working relationship with MA
and their architect over a lengthy
period in developing this scheme
and are delighted to be able to
bring it to fruition, the quirky
MGM design will make this a
landmark building in Southwalk,
and another we are pleased to add
to our portfolio”.
Work has already commenced
on site and is expected to be
completed early in 2014.
Way back in 1998, Mildenhall
based façade contractor EAG
was the first fabricator in the UK
to invest in a combined routing
and sawing CNC machining
centre from specialist Italian
CNC machine tool manufacturer
Emmegi.
This investment helped propel
EAG to one of the most capable
facades contractors in the UK
enhancing component accuracy
and doubling production capacity.
EAG’s fabrication arm, Multi Fab
Ltd, has just commissioned this
latest investment from Emmegi,
in a state-of-the-art Quadra L1
machining centre. This machine
has the most up-to-date in cutting
edge technology, providing
enhancing component fabrication
and individual part quality of the
highest standard.
EAG’s Pre-Construction
Director Edward Whipp said,
“In a time when the UK façade
industry has taken a real bashing
with many of the major players
going out of business, it is exactly
the right time for the group to be
making this major investment.
As in the rest of the economy, we
are seeing activity pick up and
the increased quality and capacity
this new machining centre will
deliver will position us perfectly
to take advantage of these
increased opportunities. The new
Quadra will accelerate in house
production and benefit our client
service”.
Multi Fab’s Nigel Woodhouse
added, “Our new investment
shows our ongoing commitment
to the construction industry to
provide good quality products at
a competitive price. We are also
saying we are open for business
and here for the long term, so
whether a customer requires just
1 window unit or 1000 units we
can help.”
Multi Fab is also finding that its
supply only service for aluminium
bi-folding doors is proving
very popular with builders and
installers alike. “Manufacturing
good quality aluminium units
is much more specialised than
with other materials,” says Nigel.
“We have expanded this side
of our production business and
now have some staff dedicated to
making just bi-fold doors.”
The new CNC machine means
new efficiencies with faster lead
times for specialised products. The
company has ambitious expansion
plans and owns additional land at
the Attleborough location to be
able to build another factory.
It launched its renewable
energy division, ‘Eagle New
Energy’, from the site in 2010,
which continues to grow by
providing specialised Solar PV
and other renewable energy
solutions to commercial building
projects.
