Made For Trade is a part of AANCO;
a family run business trading for over
35 years. AANCO was run by Richard
Gaunt until his son, Bradley took over

But this customer –led
business strategy isn’t for the
faint of hearted as it relies on
a sizeable setup investment
followed by lower margins,
leading to a riskier return
on investment. For MFT
customers, however, this strategy
can mean one of two things:
increased margins - and the
ability to be more competitive
and essentially ‘win that job’.
This industry is highly
competitive, so when
‘unbelievable offers’ are
advertised chances are that
corners have been cut to
reduce costs. At MFT this
goes against the grain. We are
lean and efficient from the
word go. Quotes are generally
done within the hour. Jobs are
processed and confirmations
sent the same day and quick
lead times are adhered to. A very
tight ship is maintained and the
efficiency savings are passed on
to our customers to give them
the ability to convert more leads
to jobs and that in turn means
more business for MFT.

The company fabricates the
Synseal Global conservatory
roof system as well as the
Smarts Visofold 1000 bi-folding
door. But being able to supply
market-leading products at
competitive prices isn’t going
to sustain a growing customer
base if it can’t be backed up with
great service. To ensure a near
perfect job on time and in full
approach, there are stringent
systems in place.
One area of growth is the
addition of different colour
options. On conservatory roofs,
MFT offers standard colours as
well as the Artisan foils range.
On bi-folding doors we stock
white, black, and anthracite
grey, all are priced the same. We
can also supply any RAL colour
at only a fraction more and
maintain a quick lead time.

Investing £100,000 annually
in research and development,
Sliders UK is constantly
evolving its “Ultimate” range
of UPVC and aluminium bifolding doors to help installers
offer more choice to customers
and meet the growing demand
for these products.
Since launching its Original
UPVC Duraflex bi-folding door
five years ago, Sliders UK has
firmly established the Ultimate
brand, which is characterised by
its innovation and attention to
security.
Last year, Sliders UK added two
further bi-folds to the Ultimate
range, including the Ultimate
Aspect Bi-folding Door featuring
Eurocell’s unique slimline
UPVC profile, and the Ultimate
Aluminium Bi-folding Door,
which adopts ALUK’s robust
Beaufort system.
Sliders has developed Secured by
Design accredited upgrades for all
three Ultimate bi- folds. In fact,
the Original (UPVC) Ultimate
and Ultimate Aluminium Bifolding Doors were the first to
satisfy the strict criteria set by
the official police initiative for
‘designing out crime.’
Until recently, these SBD
approved hardware solutions
were optional; however, the
manufacturer is now supplying
them as a standard specification
to trade customers.
SBD SECURITY AS STANDARD
“For us this is as much about
social responsibility as it is about
differentiation,” explains Ian
Longbottom, Joint MD of Sliders
UK.
“A burglary through a bi-folding
door could potentially allow an
intruder to empty a property
completely. For this reason we
prefer to make our bi-folds truly
secure, rather than offer the basic
specification that crowds the
market.”
As well as providing in the
ultimate in security, Sliders’
bi-folding doors offer a wide
range of design options, allowing
installers to cater for the exact
requirements of every customer.
Both UPVC bi-folds are
available in a variety of colours,
from standard White and
Cream to woodgrain effects in
Mahogany, Golden Oak and
Rosewood, as well as Grey,
Chartwell Green, Antique Oak,
to name a few.
The Ultimate Aluminium Bifold is available in three standard
colours or can be made to order in
any RAL colour, in a gloss, semi
gloss or matt finish. Customers
can also choose from around 14
different configuration patterns,
from two panels to seven.
