installersupport Fast-track launched to boost industry The Consumer Protection Association (CPA) is rolling out a major new initiative, CPA Fast Track, to help installers navigate 2014 as the UK economy returns to growth. Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) the CPA’s core business is providing Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBGs) and deposit protection to installers carrying out home improvements. But it also offers its members many other benefits: Director Jeremy Brett explains: “With the economy healthier and the industry looking like it will turn a corner, 2014 will be a potentially huge year. But expectations are different from five years ago and Fast Track will help our members adapt and win profitable new business. “There are essentially four elements – Fast Track knowledge and information; Fast Track sales and growth; Fast Track legislation and Fast Track Insurance Backed Guarantees. Installers can come to us and we’ll arm them with all the support and infrastructure they need to fly in 2014.” CPA Fast Track will give installers privileged access to the organisation’s barometer and survey findings it will carry out in 2014. Regarding impending MTC accreditation the CPA can guide installers through this process. With recent figures showing that 17.4% of all web traffic comes through mobile devices excluding tablets, and more than 50% of local searches are now carried out on smartphones, REHAU has invested in what it says is an essential piece of marketing support for its customers. The website generates enquiries for members of REHAU’s Authorised Partner scheme and scheme co-ordinator Sheila Normington says that it will ensure that members don’t miss out on leads from customers who are using a mobile device. “Smart phone and tablet users want a good mobile experience and our research shows that bounce rates for websites which are not mobile friendly can be very high. We have therefore developed a mobile version of www. rehauhome.co.uk which is designed specifically to be viewed on a smaller screen and which has simple, mobile-friendly navigation.” 60 million options at your fingertips THE Consultancy has teamed up with Solidor to create a new online Door Designer, allowing users to browse over 60 million options simply by going to the Solidor website. The system is fully optimised for mobile devices and requires no plug-ins, meaning customers are free to use the designer without having to download any thirdparty software. Richie Thornton, Director at The Consultancy, said: “Many people don’t like downloading plug-ins and because of this, 54 MAR 2014 websites which use external software often have high bounce rates. “The designer allows customers to do everything they need on one page, rather than having to click through to different areas of the website. This speeds up the design process and leaves a happy customer.” Customers using the new designer can choose from residential, stable or French doors, custom designing features including external and internal colour, frame styles, glass type and much more. Gareth Mobley, Managing Director of Solidor, said: “We came to The Consultancy with a basic idea of what we wanted and from that they designed and created an efficient, user-friendly system.
