COUPLE IN
THE PINK
WITH HURST
COMPOSITE
DOOR!
A Reading couple found a novel
way to celebrate Valentine’s Day this
year with a bespoke pink front door
from composite door supplier, Hurst
Plastics.
Nyree and Mike Forton moved into their
three bed Victorian terrace in August 2012
and set about transforming the interior. But
although the exterior was in good condition,
the original timber front door had little kerb
appeal and let in draughts.
Hurst composite door installer APS
Window Company in High Wycombe had
installed a composite door at a friend of
Nyree’s so she approached them.
Using Hurst Plastics’ WindowCAD
software, Nyree and APS designed a
cottage style composite door with central
glazing cassette. The white PVC-u frame
incorporated a toplight to allow in more
light. Nyree then chose a heather pink shade
from the RAL colour range, to contrast with
the brickwork. The new door also features a
smart chrome door handle and letterbox.
Nyree says: “It looks just like a timber door
but without the maintenance and it has
eliminated all those draughts. We love the
colour too which suits our home perfectly!”
