INDUSTRYNEWS Sharon joins IG Doors Truedor Team IG Doors has recruited Sharon Berry to spearhead sales of its new trade range Truedor in Wales and the South West. Sharon comes from an industry background spanning 24 years in which time she has worked in fabrication businesses, retail sales, and trade sales and has an understanding of windows, doors, and hardware systems. Her role is to support the customer-focussed approach of the business and to develop relationships with trade customers. “If I had to choose one strength I think it would be my ability to develop good relationships with customers, and ensure that they become our long term partners. When I applied for the position I knew this was something they were looking for as a key strength, and I am delighted to be in on this exciting new venture from the start.” IG Doors, Sales and Marketing Manager Richard Kirman commented: “We have said from the outset that one of the ways in which we will differentiate ourselves in the market is through our customer service and communication style. Sharon is perfect to help us achieve this.” HS2 bosses encourage regions to use project as regeneration catalyst Members of the Government’s HS2 Growth Taskforce have called on cities and LEPs to use the project to “supercharge” their regions by creating world-leading transport links and kick-starting urban regeneration. The calls feature in a newly published report from the body, which is lead by businesspeople, politicians and trade union officials. ‘HS2: Get Ready’ suggests new local bodies will need to be created to tailor growth plans for cities along the route, and ensure HS2 contracts ‘it is the opportunity to re-balance Britian and kickstart regeneration in my city’ lead to local job creation, skills development and apprenticeships. The group says a ‘business as usual’ approach to the project will not cut it and likens the scale of HS2’s potential impact to that of the Channel Tunnel. Sir Howard Bernstein, CEO Manchester City Council and Deputy Chair of the Taskforce, said: “HS2 is not just a railway. It is the opportunity to re-balance Britain and kickstart regeneration in my city and others across the Midlands and the north of England.
