Thanks to the work of Alderman Prue Beidler and the Marketing Team as well as scores of residents , the Welcome Home campaign is getting ready to launch in late spring .

Have you downloaded the LFGo app yet ?

Check out Lake Forest ’ s very own self-guided tour app to use while you walk , ride or run around town . Because it is geographically-based , Peter the narrator speaks about points of interest as you pass them . The script contains both historical facts and fun trivia . ( not available for Android phones ).
The Marketing Team developed 2 goals : to promote the City and its assets to attract new residents , young families , students , businesses , visitors , shoppers and diners ; and to encourage residents , business owners and employees to act as advocates for Lake Forest . The campaign includes :
• Over seven hours of interview footage and 1500 video clips from 30 + locations to be converted into 15-second to 5-minute films . The films will be available on the City ’ s website for everyone to share . If you have photos or videos you ’ d like to contribute to the campaign , please let us know at cityhall @ cityoflakeforest . com .
• An ability to speak to multiple audiences in a contemporary style
• An ongoing collaboration with residents of all ages
• Special focus on areas identified in the Resident Survey and through other community conversations
After a marketing schedule is developed , materials will be created for : website , video , pamphlets , collateral materials , social media , event planning , Guerilla marketing and more . If you are not already , you will learn how you can become a well-informed advocate for our extraordinary community . Stay tuned !

Do you know your Ward Number ? If not , visit cityoflakeforest . com , click on “ Maps and Parking ” and enter your address into the Lake Forest Property Search box at the top of the page .

Q & A - Did You Know ?

Question from a resident : Why is “ right on red ” at the corner of Deerpath and Waukegan allowed from Deerpath but not allowed from Waukegan Road ? Answer : 2-3 years ago , the City ’ s Traffic Safety Committee recommended a turn on red from Deerpath to northbound Waukegan Road . However , Waukegan Road turning eastbound onto Deerpath falls under the jurisdiction of the State of Illinois . Additionally , that eastbound lane on Deerpath is needed for Police and Fire when they are traveling westbound and can ’ t get by the cars headed west . Emergency vehicles use the eastbound lane to go around the cars in order to get to Waukegan Road .
