WE'RE moving more toward food

Well, we still have the same idea, that the best food is grown at home and cooked at home. The provision of healthy and tasty food is possibly the most pressing and important problem facing mankind, it affects everyone, everyone has to eat!

The feedback we are getting from our newsletters is that people are interested in more recipes. It seems you can't get enough of them, not only recipes, but techniques, how to handle, prepare and cook.

So we are taking the hint with our newsletters and making them more kitchen focussed, although there are going to be things to do in the garden, and recipes will have a growing spot where appropriate.

Interspersed between them are some features from our contributors such as Jayne Hickling, Darren Writgt and Diana.

Musing on the cost of food, we think that it has become a lot cheaper these days compared to 50 years ago. I remember chicken being a treat! However, when you look at it carefully, cooking fresh is still so much cheaper and better for you than packaged food, prepared food and so that's what we will be concentrating on. Like the gnocchi recipe, feed a family for less than £1.00 each.
