MEETING PEOPLE Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) has appointed Lothar Wilhelm Nessmann (pictured) as its new CEO following the departure of Bernold O Schroder. Lothar has close to 30 years luxury hospitality experience gained from working in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, the Middle East and Europe. AccorHotels has appointed its first ever Indigenous general manager, with Kristy Stanton overseeing the ibis Budget Sydney Olympic Park. She began her career as a Welcomer at Pullman Sydney Olympic Park in 2010 before undertaking the Group’s executive leaders program. Kate Drury (pictured) is the new CINZ MEETINGS exhibition manager following the departure of Emma Searle who left to move to London. Drury brings over 17 years’ experience in the fields of advertising, design and marketing communications, and has her own consultancy business in Auckland. Crown Hotels has appointed Shaun D’Cruz as executive general manager Crown Hotels Melbourne with responsibility for Crown Towers Melbourne and Crown Metropol Melbourne. D’Cruz was previously general manager Crown Towers Melbourne. Mark Kelleher (pictured) is the new Chair of Business Events Tasmania, replacing Malcolm Wells who stepped down at the end of March after three and a half years. Mark Kelleher is deputy CEO/secretary of the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Co-Operative Research Centre. InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Rajit Sukumaran as chief development officer in the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region. His previous role was senior vice president, acquisitions & development, Asia Pacific at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The Tank Stream Hotel in Sydney has appointed Nigel Myers as their new business development manager. He has previously worked in management positions at a range of Sydney hotels including Pullman Hyde Park, Travelodge and Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport. AccorHotels has appointed Louise Daley  as deputy CEO Asia Pacific. She has been with AccorHotels for 26 years, and was most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer, Asia Pacific. AccorHotels has appointed Gillian Millar (pictured) as the new senior vice president, New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia. Previously vice president operations Western Australia, she replaces Chris Sedgwick. Chanelle Du Rand has joined the Rutherford Hotel, Nelson as the conference and events sales manager. She has recently moved to New Zealand from Johannesburg where she has worked in 5-star hotels in hotel operations, events and catering management. Marriott International has appointed Alethea Lam as vice president, communications for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Prior to this she was director of corporate communications for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Chris Waite as director of communications, Australasia and Japan. Prior to his appointment, he led Amadeus Asia Pacific communications team headquartered in Bangkok. Mantra Group has appointed Andrew McTaggart as development manager.
