Cider Mag Winter 2015 Issue 52 | Page 3

Cider Press Juliana and Brett Wilson Editor Juliana Wilson [email protected] Dear Cider Mag Readers, As we close in on 2015, I always find that it’s essential to look back at the year and remember all of the amazing opportunities and positive experiences that I need to be grateful for having in my life. I am incredibly thankful for all the artists that shared their music and passion with the entire Cider Mag Family this year. We have so much content that this issue is double in size than our normal monthly magazine. Due to the substance in the pages ahead, this issue of Cider Mag is an excellent way to relive some beautiful musical celebrations. The 2015 Summer Music Festival Experience will spark those memories or help you decide where you’re definitely heading next festival season. We have taken this time to bring you detailed coverage of eight of the best music festivals NH, VT, MA, and CT had to offer this past summer, along with some stellar photography to accompany the words. We hope this will spur some gratitude in you. Our cover story this issue focuses in on VT musician Bow Thayer and the festival he has created, Tweed River. This year Tweed River saw a change in venue, but not a loss of numbers, as more musicians and attendees gathered together to celebrate an array of Americana rock music. Besides telling the story of Tweed River, this story shares with you the evolvements occurring with Bow—a new studio album, a shift in his backing band, and even the invention and creation of his own instrument, the Bojotar. Bow had even just returned from touring the East coast! We have to be thankful for Bow. As always Cider Mag has brought you a movie review, written by my dear friend Leslie (whom I’m very thankful for). This time she celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Grateful Dead with The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir (pg. 56). For fun, read the new Cosmic Lion Comix (pg. 5) and for holiday cooking inspiration read my recipe for one of my favorite soups this time of year, Potato Leek (pg. 11). If you make the soup, please share your photos with me on Twitter @CiderMag, Instagram @CiderMag, or post them to our Facebook page. I am always grateful for the social connections I make with our readers. Happy holidays from the Cider Mag Family to you and yours, and best musical wishes for a rocking New Year!
