Is it difficult to self-motivate without the restrictions
of a set work schedule?
I don’t feel need of motivation. I could just wake up and
the idea is floating in my mind. Then I decide if it’s time
to manifest it, or I may have other important things
to do in this day and leave it for the next day. Once I
concentrate on the canvas, I have so many ideas, that
sometimes it’s hard to decide which one to go on with.
Our world with all its duality, contrasts and creations
provides a big motivation to present it somehow through
my own eyes.
Have you kept up your other endeavours, such as
design, since focusing on painting?
Oh yes – I always do keep my interest in beauty and the
surroundings, but not in a professional matter, more as a
hobby and helping friends with it, or at my own place. I
have also added other endeavours in the last 6 years, such
as a spiritual writing and also volunteering in a nursing
home and palliative care facility. I split my time now
between painting and giving love.
How does your approach differ towards a commissioned piece vs. a completely original/creative piece?
There is not much of a difference for me. Everything I
do is in my style. Sometimes for commissioned paintings
require a specific selection of colors which could be a bit
more limiting.
Your pieces are so beautiful, have you ever thought of
turning the prints into apparel?
I haven’t thought about turning them into apparel. I feel
I would prefer to paint on the cloths directly.
What differentiates you from other artists?
Well … I feel that a big part is my love for painting as
an expression, that has not much to do with how
successful or well paid I am. I would love to see my
paintings everywhere and not limit their viewing because
of legal rights. I feel it is just an added touch of beauty
to our world!I also feel in our modern society very often
beauty and talent are not always synonymous with
success. I would like to give as much I could to this
world and not necessarily to gain popularity or wealth.
