There are 48 exclusively designed freestanding
lodges with a separate bedroom and living room
area. Each section of the lodge was handcrafted
and helicoptered in as to not disturb the surrounding trees and creek that flows through
the property. Each lodge features an indoor and
outdoor fireplace and sun deck, but make sure to
reserve a lodge with a private outdoor hot tub, it
is the perfect romantic touch to your stay. Their
Spa has also won numerous awards for it’s top
quality service and state-of-the-art facilities. Calistoga is famous for it’s mineral-rich mud, which
is incorporated in their signature spa treatment,
“The Calistoga Cure”. The hotel also boasts a
wine cave for tastings and private events; it’s own
vineyard, and miles of hiking trails, which have
been known to be frequented by Lady Gaga.
Unlike most hotels, their fine-dining restaurant,
The Lakehouse, is for hotel-guests only. Which
means no pesky outsiders or annoying tourists
interrupting your dining experience or view of
Lake Lommel. To celebrate the rich culture of
food and wine from the Napa Valley, organic
and locally sourced food are the centerpiece of
the menu. Head chef Bryan Moscatello tries to
achieve complex dishes with few ingredients using an on-site garden, luxury chicken coop, and
beehive. Moscatello is hailed as a culinary artist.
There is a rotating four-course prix fixe menu
but be sure to add on the wine pairing with each
course, which is tailored to your palette. The
chef ’s Seasonal Fig Tart, Peach and Prosciutto
Salad, and Superior Farms Lamb Loin are this
season’s stand out dishes. Moscatello is also adding a wood-burning pizza oven to the kitchen, so
look for some menu changes coming early 2016.
