ATELIER
GUARIN
To me any woman who feels a certain sensation
when they see an Atelier Guarin piece, is an Atelier Guarin
woman. The immediate reaction or bond to a
garment they see, instantly makes them a part of the brand.
My initial concept for the collection came from a collection of photos
of Pelicans I photographed in Florida, I go a couple of times a year and
always admire all the birds and beautiful species, but never really paid close
attention to them. I came upon a pod of dark Pelican birds, and just became
mesmerized by the colours and textures they had. from there I drew my
inspiration for all the colours in the collection, as they came directly from
their feathers, beak, and webbed feet. From then on my music choices
changed to 1970’s ballads and soul songs, which then lead me into studying
70’s style and silhouettes, which also inspired elements of the collection. This
collection moves away from my previous collection, which was more minimal, softer, and monochromatic. This collection differs in silhouettes, styles,
and colours. I decided that I wanted to offer new ideas, new colours, and
more details in this collection. its good to keep the audience surprised and
wanting to see what’s next, I find it boring when people stay the same,
and don’t evolve. I feel this collection shows more variety, and growth
for me as a designer while still remaining true to the Atelier Guarin
aesthetic. The Atelier Guarin woman is a style conscious modern
woman who pays attention to detail, fit, tactility, and quality.
