whole “elongation of the leg” thing, the
“making my height not the top topic
of every conversation” thing and then
the “they are just plain pretty” thing.
But, inevitably, when I wake up in the
morning and go into my closet, despite
the fact that I have been collecting stilettos like it’s my job since I could walk
in them (ok, so maybe I still can’t really
walk in them), I without fail mi grate
toward the paltry flat section of my shoe
collection and rummage around until
I find something that almost, sort of,
maybe works with whatever I have on.”
