I had long heard that
COMO
SHAMBHALA ESTATE
was the epicenter for spiritual
and physical wellness
The next day I left for Ubud, which soon became my favorite
region of Bali. Temples, mountains, monkeys, and sprawling rice
paddies made me feel like I had been transported worlds away
from the somewhat-commercialized coastline of Bali. I had long
heard that COMO Shambhala Estate was the epicenter for spiritual and physical wellness and after seeing their programs I can
attest to this statement. This hotel is set above the jungle with a
spring running through the property that has long been revered
by locals as “The Source”. Down a few steps to the River Ayung
is where your treatment and healing begin. Begin with the rare
Ayurvedic facial, you will have baby-soft skin and look 10 years
younger. The clean light-filled white villas and suites are positioned over the 23-acre site. All of the rooms and suites are situ-
ated within the freestanding individually designed Residences.
Each suite comes with it’s own rooms and each has access to its
Residence’s pools, lounge areas and shaded pavilions. This is the
best place for a honeymooning couple that values spa and wellness or a girls’ retreat. Insider Tip: Stay in the COMO Suite at
Umabona, which means “House of the Earth Son”. My favorite
part about the Suite is the Master bedroom’s shower- it is the size
of my apartment, has 10 different showerheads, and has karma
sutra murals hanging on the walls. Sounds like romance to me!
