More Than $1 Billion in Construction Activity
Construction activity in 2015 was at a five-year high of $1.4 billion
– a 58 per cent increase over 2014. Residential construction saw
the largest growth, with a year-over-year increase of more than
113 per cent. This marked surge is due to more condominiums
being built along Highway 7 from Martin Grove Road to Bathurst
Street. This corridor will begin to reflect a high-density mixed-use
community that will support public transit options.
