Johannesburg, but you grew up in
Edendale, Pietermaritzburg. You were
schooled at Bisley Park Primary (where
you were made a prefect in 1993) and
matriculated from Pietermaritzburg
Girls’ High School. You attained your
Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology
from the University of KwaZulu-Natal
(UKZN). What are your memories of
Pietermaritzburg?

brings back a flood of memories! Thank
you for reminding me.
One of my fondest memories was when
my parents would drop me off at the library
every Saturday and I would spend several
hours reading and exploring the library.
I would then walk across to the museum
(in Jabu Ndlovu Street) and pay R5 to look
at all the installations. Nerdy, I know, but it
fascinated me. I think that developed my
curious nature and love of reading. My
parents also always fetched me on time,
which has made me a very time-conscious
adult.
