Invest in companies based on: Humans, Equity, ROI, Opportunity. Focus on the executive and management team (experience, credentials, and so forth) and that also includes their business plan and strategy. Review the entire equity structure (issued and fully diluted and include all debt financing), market cap, and so forth. Consider putting a higher weighting on the H for many companies right now due to the infancy of the industry and its precarious regulatory framework

There are many other methods you can use to simplify the overall strategy.

No matter what approach works best for you (detailed checklist, Tenets, Avoid Losses, SPIRO, HERO, Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, etc), the core is always the same – due diligence and look for a value priced entry point. Much like the smart shopper on Black Thursday, never over-pay and look for the sales. I write for CANNAINVESTOR Magazine because this publication is the only one I have seen that in my opinion best prepares you, the Retail Investor, to be a successful integral part of this industry. I receive zero compensation from any company I reference and have never been approached/requested to reference any specific company. I use companies that are relevant to the point being made as illustrative examples and case studies. CANNAINVESTOR Magazine was the first that I know of, to list international companies among its top picks and to feature companies, such as The Tinley Beverage Company which now joins companies such as The Scott’s Miracle-Gro Company (SMH), GW Pharmaceuticals plc (GWPH), and Canopy Growth Corp (TWMJF) in the top stock list.

CANNAINVESTOR Magazine has spotlighted Canada since its inaugural issue and only in the past few weeks have there been more and more articles by others highlighting that the legal Canadian marijuana industry is ideal for investing. It is easy to follow … it is hard to lead and to date CANNAINVESTOR Magazine has been the leader. Be honest, prior to the June issue, had you heard of the Tinley Beverage Company or of Aphria Inc? Tinley may take California by storm and Aphria Inc has expanded into the USA (It is a Canadian Licensed Producer), partnered with MassRoots, and has added a “Dragon’s Den” principal Investor to its Board (remember: Invest in the “Humans”/management team). This article right now may be the first time you are learning of other companies that you can invest in that are active or exploring the industry, for example, in California:
