NEWS AWARDS SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY McLaughlin and Harvey continue to manage the site with exceptionally high standards. This was recognised at the national award ceremony of the Considerate Constructors Scheme where they were presented with a Silver Award, narrowly missing out on Gold by only one point. Nationally there are over 9,000 companies eligible to apply for these awards and only 287 Silver Awards and 99 Gold Awards are presented. Autism Awareness Week - 27th March to 2nd April In addition McLaughlin and Harvey have also been awarded RoSPA (Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award for the fifth consecutive year which again is in recognition of the site team’s highest regard and commitment to Health and Safety and Wellbeing within the workplace. Prince’s Trust students visited the site and met with McLaughlin and Harvey staff and other contractors. Their focus was on sustainability aspects of the project. BREEAM is the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology. It is a scheme against which buildings are measured to secure a rating. BREEAM sets the standard for best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation and has become one of the most comprehensive and widely recognised measures of a building’s environmental performance. Ayrshire College actively encourages women to enter careers and learning programmes where female participation is traditionally low.  The “Ayrshire Girl Can” campaign aims to showcase what talented and inspiring women we have in Ayrshire. It encourages designers, clients and others to think about low carbon and low impact design, minimising the energy demands created by a building before considering energy efficiency and low carbon technologies. During Autism Awareness Week McLaughlin and Harvey made information about autism available to all on site. PRINCE’S TRUST SITE VISIT THIS AYRSHIRE GIRL CAN As part of Women into STEM week Rachel Kyle, Assistant Site Manager at McLaughlin and Harvey was interviewed.
