Time capsule buried at new college campus Ayrshire College has buried a time capsule outside the main entrance of the new Kilmarnock Campus on Hill Street. The time capsule was filled with items provided by college staff and students, as well as members of the local community, and has been buried at the new building to preserve this moment in time for future generations. Included in the time capsule is a commemorative book called ‘A Look Back at 2015’. This was a collaborative publication between the college’s Marketing Team and Social Science students. The book reflects fashion trends, popular films, music artists, books and celebrities of the era prior to the opening of the new campus. Also included in the book are student interviews describing what it was like to be a student in 2015-16. Old prospectuses and Kilmarnock Standard newspapers are other items placed within the time capsule, as was a price list for everyday student essentials. Heather Dunk, Principal, said “The time capsule will preserve important memories spanning the time period that the Kilmarnock Campus was built. Our students were keen to give future generations an insight into what life as a student was like in 2015/16.” Click here to read
