The Estates and Facilities Team
The Estates and Facilities team, led by
Donna Vallance, Vice Principal, College
Estates and New Campus Development,
has been integral to the success of the
move to the new Kilmarnock Campus at
Hill Street.
We interviewed Ray Walkinshaw, Head
of Estates and Facilities. He tells us
more about the team’s role in the
new campus development and the
sustainability of the building.
Over the last twelve months, as the project
came closer to completion, the Estates
and Facilities Team became increasingly
involved. The team worked around the
clock to make sure that everything was in
place for the students’ arrival.
Estates Partnership Leader Gillian Brown
met up with staff before the move to
establish what new equipment would be
required at the new campus that would
provide the best student experience.
Gillian then organised the procurement
and arranged delivery.
Estates Team Leader for Kilmarnock,
Gordon McLaren, coordinated all the
work of the Central Stores Assistants,
Cleaners, Campus Assistants and
Estates Assistants.
Central Stores Assistant Scott Ballantyne,
assisted by Aileen McKay, and other
colleagues, ensured the huge volume of
new equipment was distributed to the
right rooms and everything was ready
for the arrival of staff.
