Over the past few years, Christmas
in the cake world has become
synonymous with the annual
’12 Sweet Blessings of Christmas’
collaboration. We sat down with
Australia’s own Jacki Fanto, the
woman behind this festive tradition
and owner of Sydney’s Blissfully
Sweet.
Like many cake artists, you started
decorating cakes when your first child
was born. How did Blissfully Sweet
evolve from there?
My first cake was indeed my eldest
son’s first birthday cake. So that is
now 12 years ago! It started the love
of caking for me and for the next 5
years, I used any excuse for family
and friends to make a cake. It was my
thing. It was not until my eldest son
started big school that some of the
mums found out I made cakes and
I got to make cakes for them that I
decided that I should actually charge
money for these! It started as simply
as that and it just has evolved over
time to what it is. The name Blissfully
Sweet took literally less than a minute
to decide. I decided the name needed
to start with a B, as my new born son’s
(my second child) name is Benjamin,
