To make the little people

Step 8 : Step 9 :
Body - create a small cone shape by rolling a 10g ball of modelling paste between your palms and keeping the paste pressed against your work mat to achieve a flattened base . Insert skewer and trim to size .
To create pants / legs use a Dresden tool to create a line down the middle halfway up the cone . To create a different coloured top , cut 1cm off the top of the cone and add a 3g ball shaped into a small cone and flattened to form a torso . Head – roll 9g of flesh tone modelling paste into a ball and slightly flatten to an oval shape Facial features – with a fine paint brush , add 2 black dots for eyes and use brown for the smile and freckles . Use a bit of pink petal dust to colour cheeks . Hair – take a 2g ball of hair colour sugar paste and place in the cupped palm of your hand . Using your thumb or finger make and indentation in the middle of the ball and with a circular motion smooth the inside to create a small bowl around the size of the head . Glue onto the back of the head and use your Dresden tool to score the paste to create the illusion of hair strands . For a side swept fringe , make a small flattened oval and create the part by making a small indentation with your Dresden tool . A straight fringe is achieved by taking a small flattened oval and cutting straight across the bottom . Again you can use Dresden tool to add details . Ears – glue teeny tiny balls or flesh coloured paste to the side of the head and use the end of a paintbrush to create an indentation to create detail and reinforce the ear into place . Shoes – take 2g of paste , halve and roll into balls and then flatten sides and indent slightly to form shoes . Arms and hands – roll 2 small thin sausages to about 1cm in length and cut off the ends with a sharp blade . Roll out 2 small balls of flesh coloured paste and attached to the cut ends with a bit of glue .

Step 10 : Step 11 :
Variations can be added to give your little person a little bit of character . You can add as little or as much as you desire . Here are some of the features I added to my little people : Her little hair-do was created with a side part and the pigtails were created by rolling six little tear drop shapes . We clustered three together before attaching to either side .
The ruffle detail on her dress were achieved using cutters . You can use a toothpick or frilling tool to create ruffling . Cut out a small star and attached to her chest before attaching arms , positioning them so it looks like she is holding onto the star .
