In all , 225 office visits were made . Additionally , our members met with Speaker Joe Straus and Jay Dyer from Governor Abbott ’ s office . Some of the topics covered were the need for funding for higher education , funding for military communities , and the need for wind farm mitigation near military flight training routes and airports .

At the end of the day we celebrated Coastal Bend Day with a reception at the Bullock Museum . Entertainment was provided by grammy nominated artist El Dusty . There were over 300 in attendance including the following members :
