About the Lynn Wolff Fund
Recently , a significant effort has been started to specifically create initial funding for the Lynn Wolff Fund . This fund will have its own mission and leadership within BSLA Fund . Now in its inaugural year , a funding goal of $ 100,000 has been set with the plan to attract $ 90,000 in gifts from firms and organizations and $ 10,000 from individuals who wish to see Lynn ' s work with the urban community continued .
At this point , you may be asking why this is being done .
While we have asked ourselves that once or twice , the future of the profession is predicated on the degree programs . Students are leaving school with more debt than ever before . Whatever we can do to minimize that is in our profession ’ s best interest . The best and brightest will continue in the profession while worrying just a little less about student loan debts . Sometimes all it takes is that one additional scholarship to make things better . If we can help reduce the overall financial burden for students , our profession will reap the rewards .
But wait , there ’ s more .
In addition to the goal set for the Wolff Fund , we have also set a goal for BSLA Fund , based on the very successful Southern California program . In a few years ’ time , we are targeting a
$ 1 million endowment for our BSLA Fund . This admittedly ambitious fundraising program will need support from all members of the landscape architectural community - members , firms , contractors , suppliers , and vendors – and all will be asked to donate . Meeting this goal will help educate the Landscape Architects of the future . It is possible with your help .
If you are interested in helping BSLA Fund by enhancing our strategy , fundraising , scholarship program development , spreading our message , or something that we have not thought of , reach out to the Chapter Office . We look forward to having you join us .
