The Park Today
Peace Park has served the community since 2007 as a setting where public gatherings may bring attention to important local and national issues . Most recently , residents , legislators , and city officials gathered at Peace Park for a rally to maintain momentum in the push for gun control after the country ’ s latest mass shooting in Orlando . Peace Park does not contain any physical monuments , only a dedication plaque because the mere creation of the park itself , and the positive impact the park has in this community , provide a lasting testimonial to the memory of those lost to violence and the hope for a lasting peace .
