The result ? Nothing short of a breakthrough .

The participants were multi-generational ; from ages 8 to 88 . Moms and dads with families were participating in the conversation about what should happen to their park . A record number of surveys were filled out in every language providing suggestions for what the park really needed . Everyone had access to the process , everyone participated , and everyone was heard . As Landscape Architects this is our responsibility . We are the designers of public open space , and in order to craft a truly beautiful , and functional park design , we must hear from the people – all of them .
