Benefits of Metrics in Parks

Know the number of people using a park in realtime ; be able to show how capital improvements improve the desirability of a park by knowing how many more people come than did in the past .
Be able to observe trends and usage patterns to inform present and future design decisions and measure the success of prior designs .
See how different design interventions change the usage patterns and popularity of a park and individuals spaces within it .
Know the types of use happening in a park and be able to design and program accordingly .
Know how long people spend time in a park overall and how popular certain spaces are compared to others or how popularity changes based on the time of day .
Use park usage data to inform maintenance schedules for parks and ultimately save money because of increased efficiency scheduling .
