Programs

This has been a fun year for BSLA Programs . Our offerings became more diverse to appeal to our increasingly diverse membership .
2015 was the first year we coordinated group outings to professional sporting events . BSLA members ( and family members and guests ) attended Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox games . While we wish the outcomes of each of the games had been different , the success was in the thrill of experiencing the games with fellow landscape architects and friends .
We continued with our strong offerings of lectures and workshops , often partnered with allied organizations . BSLA members can now attend select sessions of the Ecological Landscape Alliance at no charge . We continued partnering with the Arnold Arboretum with sessions such as “ The Forest Floor ”, with Boston Society of Architects and other organizations on the Boston Futures series ( a standing room only event !) with Grow Native Massachusetts on an inspiring lecture with Darrel Morrison on native meadows , among so many others .
Partnering with the BSA for space allows us to collaborate with our friends in other design professions and bring speakers that appeal to both audiences . Nancy Seasholes lecture on Frederick Law Olmsted : Making Land for Boston ’ s Parks was equally attended by landscape architects , architects , planners , urban designers , among others .
Over the next year , we will be expanding our Programs offerings by creating focused subcommittees to provide additional energy on development of more diverse and more frequent offerings . Be sure to check BSLA / Now and the BSLA Calendar at BSLAnow . org for details regularly . Things are always being added ! See you at an event soon ! We bet there will be at least one you won ’ t want to miss !
