The Universiti Teknologi Petronas ( UTP ) has established a vision to become a nationally recognized research university , an internationally recognized partner of choice for industries , and a respected member of the scientific community . A key component in achieving this vision is engaging with private industry to advance technology and talent globally .
In response to this vision , the UTP Research District Master Plan provides a lively , dynamic , and sustainable new place that integrates education , research , and entrepreneurship to drive university exploration and discovery in new businesses , products , ongoing cuttingedge research , and new strategic partnerships between the university and private industry .
The research district was born from a closely collaborative process with UTP leadership and faculty , key potential private industry partners , and the consultant team . Now in its first phase of implementation , the district provides a visionary yet feasible foundation that will achieve this vision in the immediate future .
