Off-Leash Dog Parks & Beach Off -Leash Dog Parks & Beach Dog park membership registration is now available online! The park district provides three locations where dogs are permitted off-leash: • Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Dog Park – open year round Larry Fink Memorial Park, 701 Deer Creek Parkway • Moraine Beach – open Apr-Nov* 2501 Sheridan Road, at Moraine Ave. • Highland Park Golf Learning Center – open Dec-Mar* 2205 Skokie Valley Hwy, north of Park Ave. * Opening and closing dates are weather dependent. The parks will close periodically for cleaning and maintenance. Dog Parks and Beach Amenities • A wash station is available mid-Apr through Oct, weather dependent, at Moraine and Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Parks. • Pickup bag dispensers and trash receptacles. • Locked off-leash exercise area, accessible only with key fob membership card at Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Dog Park. • The exercise area hours are dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Rules and Regulations for Dog Exercise Areas • Presentation of your key fob membership card is required for use of the parks and is not transferable. • Dogs must be on a leash and under control to and from the off-leash exercise area. • Owners must clean up after their dogs and are solely responsible for their dogs. • Dogs not under control or uncooperative will have their membership revoked. • Children must be at least 10 years of age to enter the off-leash area and must be closely supervised. • Maximum of two dogs per person on any single visit. • Dogs must be fully immunized and display City of Highland Park and rabies tags. • Violation of rules or ordinances will result in loss of privileges with no refund and fines up to $500. • Dogs are allowed off-leash only in the designated fenced enclosures. Registration Process • Registration is required to exercise your dog in the off-leash dog areas. You will receive a key fob membership card within ten business days of registration. You must carry this fob membership card with you when visiting all off-leash dog park areas. • To register online visit pdhp.org. • In person registration may be done at Heller Nature Center (see page 38 for Heller contact information). • Dog park memberships are valid for a 12-month period from date of purchase. Fees • Resident: $50 first dog ($25 each additional dog). Must provide 2016-2017 City of Highland Park dog tag number. • Nonresident: $150 first dog ($75 each additional dog).
