Under his management company of WoodGrayne Entertainment, Shurlock born in Birmingham, Alabama has worked along side some of the most notable artists in the music industry, such as Pastor Troy, DJ Hurricane, Blk & Myld and Tim Barnwell (just to name a few).
As an R&B/Neo-soul artist, Shurlock’s musical inspiration comes from music greats like: The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan. However, it must be said that he has always been a creator of his own music and the giver of a great R&B experience.
Although, his music has been labeled as “Feel it Music” he constantly pushes the border of Dance, Electronic and Hip Hop music. Which means; he is a true entertainer.
Shurlock and WoodGrayne Entertainment provide opportunities for artists to development through a myriad of services: Networking opportunities and image consulting. Shurlock and his team strive to provide programs, initiatives and support for youth through the influence and utilization of Hip Hop culture. PARAE are an experimental post-punk art-rock band from San Francisco CA. Their recent release “UNTIL WE DISAPPEAR” is an amalgamation of post-punk, shoe gaze, goth and alloys made with heavier metals, lucid, dark and feminine throughout. The drum rhythms of TKO are tom heavy and progressively pummel the music forward upon a surf wave of doom. The bass, hyper distorted, more akin to a rhythm guitar, barreling like an oncoming train. The guitars range from super saturated full frequency buzz to completely alien glissandos and textures that float like icicles threatening to impale at any moment. The lyrics are provocative and uncompromising, not the stuff of pop song romance - nightmarish, paranoid, mocking, detailing the misfortunes of tomorrow becoming today. The dueling vocals of E and M are stronger than ever, twining against each other, reaching impossible highs and basking in naked vulnerability. Although Parae is a post-punk band, their sound is sweet and easy on the ears. They are a fresh sound that compliments the music arts.
