What You Can Do To Improve the
Microbiome:
1. Eat Fermented Foods
(incorporate these foods slowly and
at the proper time)
a. Kefir
b. Kombucha
c. Cultured Yogurt
d. Sauerkraut
2. Probiotic
a. There is great children’s
probiotic out there
b. Make sure that it has the proper
strains and various cultures
c. Kids usually need more
lactobacillus
d. If you are breastfeeding or
pregnant, take a probiotic
e. If you need to take an antibiotic,
make sure to take saccharomyces
boulardii during the time and
increase your probiotics after to
replenish the good bacteria.
3. Add fiber
a. Fiber feeds the good bacteria
b. Many kids don’t eat foods with
enough fiber. Therefore, increase
fiber but make sure to do it slowly
4. Limit white sugar and processed
foods
a. These foods will kill off the
bacteria and lead to problems in
the gut
5. Filter Your Water
a. Tap water has many chemicals
that kill off bacteria. wFilter out
these chemicals so they don’t kill
off your good gut bacteria.
It is important to keep the levels high
throughout life, and it is best to start
early.
