that consisted mainly of the choir ’ s pieces , such as Eric Whitacre ’ s “ Glow ,” Mozart ’ s “ Fa-La-La ,” “ The Lamb ,” “ The Christmas Song ” and “ A La Nanita Nana .” Students from our band program participated in some of the pieces with the orchestra , as well as forming a Flute Choir , which performed a Renaissance piece called “ In Vain , O Cruel One ,” and a Clarinet Quartet who performed The Beatles ’ “ When I ’ m Sixty-Four .” To follow the proper Madrigal tradition at Silver Creek , all choir alum from the audience combined with all four choirs on the piece “ Betelehemu .”
Audience members loved the performances , as they are a great representation of the hard work that the students and teachers in the A Wing put into something that means a lot to them . For many seniors , the final Madrigal performance was a very bittersweet experience , and it just goes to show that the students love the Madrigal just as well as the audience members . It was evident that the Madrigal shows were great successes , as the ending of each piece was met with tumultuous applause , the theatrical elements with occasional laughter , and the entire performance with good cheer . The Royal Madrigal Feast isn ’ t quite like anything else we do here at SIlver Creek , and it holds a special place in the hearts of many .

Twelfth Night , Shakespeare ’ s story of perplexing plots and twisted relationships , came to life in this Silver Creek High School production . In this riveting staging of Twelfth Night , students of the Silver Creek theater department reached new levels of professionalism , humor , and passion in their performances , not something found in many high school plays . The cast portrayed their characters wonderfully , imbuing each role with its own personal flair . The Shakespearean dialect was executed quite well in this five-act play .
As the lead role , Abby Lathrop-Melting portrayed Viola in an exceptional manner . She was able to depict her character as cunning and witty , while still adding a sense of humor , airiness , and spirit . When asked what her experience on set was like , she said , “ It was incredible as always . I always love working with SCHS theater company , and this cast and crew was especially close and full of talented people .” An experienced actress , Abby has performed in many other Silver Creek productions in years past , including another one of Shakespeare ’ s works , A Midsummer Night ’ s Dream . She describes herself as “ a huge Shakespeare fan ,” as she loves to dissect the literature and bring the stories to life . Her passion for these works is quite apparent
