couldn’t find one I liked. Knowing polymer clay would give me the opportunity to play with color I decided to try my hand at it. I enjoy working with polymer clay and will continue to dabble in it but copper is still my favorite. I finally discovered a wonderful way to add the color I had been craving to my copper which makes me very happy. I have an extensive list of things I’d like to try but not enough hours in the day to do them justice. I work a full time job on top of my jewelry and component work so time is very precious. I recently upgraded my kiln and now it’s possible for me to play with ceramics so that has moved to the top of my list. Where do you get the ideas and inspirations for your shapes and textures? Inspiration is absolutely everywhere. I’m always looking for texture and always touching everything wondering how it would translate to clay. I like looking in to creativebeadchat.com the textures to see if something else pops out at me. For instance I have lots of lace which is a great texture and I’ve pulled a Fish and an Owl from within some of them that I don’t think the creator intended. As well as creating fabulous components, you also design jewelry, which do you prefer? I love them both! I’m addicted to art beads so I have an enormous stash which makes jewelry making so much fun. It’s especially fun when another artists component/bead work inspires me to create something in copper specifically for it. The component work is my bread and butter and luckily I love doing it!!
