You make beautiful, colorful, eye catching jewelry, what inspires you?
There are many things to inspire creation. I would say that mine is challenge driven.
The pursuit to be unique, pushing the limits to color combinations and what different elements go best with that choice. It can be a painful process, putting together,
taking apart, it has to be perfect, that’s my nature. I also try on everything I make, it
should hang perfectly, be comfortable, no difficulties what so ever. I want to guarantee that what you get is a work of art that shows my heart went into every drop.
You use a lot of artisan made components, what draws you to particular components and how do they influence your style?
A couple years ago I started salvaging components from finds at thrift & consignment
stores. It’s amazing what treasures are out there. Stuff you won’t find anywhere else
that will make a huge impact on keeping your designs unique. I really enjoy utilizing
vintage along with little kuchi trinkets and coins of the like. I can’t say there is much I
don’t like working with, it’s all good.
What is the best thing about running your own business?
Creating is in my blood. I have dabbled in many different mediums but found my true
love in beading & design. The idea of making beautiful, meaningful, creative jewelry
and having a customer love their piece means more to me than anything, this is no
doubt the best thing about running my business.
How do you like to wind down and chill out?
Being a Colorado native, there’s lots accessible to me. I love to hike, kayak, ski, photograph, anything outdoors. However, my second biggest passion is my yoga practice.
I have been a yogi for many years & cannot think of a better way to let go and truly
focus on the current moment. It really empties your head, all thoughts about past and
future, poof, gone! Being present is an amazing feeling.
