SUMMIT – BBYO INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION 2016 OPENING CEREMONIES, BCC 4TH FLOOR 8:30 PM All Summit participants are invited to experience a taste of BBYO’s IC Opening Ceremonies, as 2,400 teens and thousnds of adults from around the world gather in one room to kick-off an extended weekend of celebration, action and learning together. Opening Ceremonies will last until approximately 10 PM. Summit participants are welcome to stay as long as they’d like. What does their use of social media tell us about where the future is heading? What impact does this have on our work, and how can the Jewish community help teens better navigate issues such as bullying, depression, and selfimage? danah boyd will address these critical questions and provide insight into how technology offers both challenges as well as opportunities to empower teens. What is working that can be replicated or scaled? How can we build toward more creative and disruptive solutions?
