What made you decide to play bass?
Another bass player inspired me.

Self taught; listened to great bass players.

musicians, do you find that this hinders
or helps your opportunities?
It’s a double-edge sword...
What is your opinion of the image
of female bassists in today’s music
industry?
I think we have proven that we can hold it down.
What specific challenges do you face as
a female bassist?
“The Boys Club,” sometimes...
What do you feel are the advantages?
Positive energy from the audience; I think
seeing a woman in the band playing a nonconventional instrument inspires people,
especially other women. They sometimes tell
me t hey feel empowered!
