Or you can strike the sail Mizzen sheeted in as tight as possible Helm is thrown over and lashed into place The boat will stay hove to allowing you to reef, make a cup of tea, get the oars out etc. It will happily stay like this until you wish otherwise HOWEVER TAKE LEEWARD DRIFT INTO ACCOUNT so check your bearings and position Heaving to on the starboard tack will subject the boat to leeward drift towards the port aft quarter
